Cabbage-Chicken Curry

This is one of my favorite dish. My mom cooks it really very well. When I was writing this recipe , I was thinking about  the way my mom cooked. My tongue got  watered.It dish goes with white rice or paratha  or pita bread.

Prep Time:20 Minutes 
Cook Time: 30 Minutes

Ingredients:

1 pound chicken pieces (around 2 cups)
3 cups of shredded cabbage
1 cup chopped onion 
3 tablespoon canola oil
1 teaspoon garlic paste/powder
1 teaspoon ginger paste/powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 tablespoon plain yogurt
1 bay leaf
3 whole cardamom
3 whole cloves
1 small cinnamon stick 
1 & 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tbsp water
1/4 cup corns
2 whole green chili
1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Directions:
Step 1: 
In a hot saucepan,saute onion  with oil til the onion is light brown.Now,add all the spices except  green chili and cilantro.Stir fry for 5 to 7 minutes on medium to low heat.Now add the chicken ,mix with the spices properly and cook it for 15 minutes until the chicken is almost cooked.Never cook on high heat.

Stir occasionally or else the chicken might get burnt or stick to the pan.

Step 2:
Now add the cabbage and mix the chicken properly and cook it for 5 to 7 minutes.In the end, add green chili and cilantro and simmer for 2 minutes.
Cabbage-Chicken Curry is ready to serve with rice or pita bread or paratha.

Try to discard  the bay leaf,cinnamon stick,cloves and cardamom.
