How to Cook Small Little Tiny Fish (Moillya Fish Curry)

 Moillya fish is very famous in Bangladesh.It's full of vitamin A,B,E,D, protein and iron .Helps improve eye vision and a lot .In Bangladesh ,Doctors suggest moms and their kids  to have this fish .You can see  that the fish is already cleaned, no head or tail no scale.Basically this type of tiny fishes don't  have scales.

Prep Time:20 Minutes 
Cook time: 35 Minutes

Ingredients:

2 cups  moillya fish  around 1 pound
1 cup chopped potato
1 cup chopped onion
5 to 6 garlic cloves chopped
1/2 tsp garlic paste/powder
1/2 tsp ginger  powder/paste

1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp chili powder


1 & 1/2  tsp  salt
2 to 3 green chili cut in the middle length portion
No  water
Chopped mint and cilantro 1/4 cup
7 tbsp  oil

Direction: 

Step 1:
Even though I got  the  cleaned fish from  packet still I will apply some extra caution since sometimes tiny snails or sea weeds  are  found in the fishes. 
So ,drain the water  from fish and mix 1 tbsp salt  in the fish.Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes.I t will help to remove the excess fishy smell.I will clean the fishes one by one , it may require time.  But, I will do it for my mental satisfaction.Drain all the water after cleaning.

Step 2 :
After the cleaning portion, in a sauce pan add all the  ingredients altogether except cilantro.Mix properly with a small spoon .Don't break the fish.Now place the sauce pan on gas stove and cook it for 30 minutes at a low heat.The fish,onion  will shed water.Stir occasionally.When its done the oil and  the spices will be separated as you can see in the image.

Sprinkle cilantro and simmer for 5 minutes.

You can cook any other fish in the same way too. 

Moillya fish is ready to serve with white rice.
