Cook time: 1 hour
Ingredients:
1 Gallon regular milk(3.78 L)
1 cup home made cottage cheese(Bring boil to 4 cups of regular milk,then add 4 to 5 tbsp vinegar in it and cook for few minutes, you will see the water and the creme seperates. Drain the water, you will get the cheese,rinse the cheese for couple of times so that it gets rid of the vineger.)
4 cups finely chopped cabbage
1 bay leaf
1 pinch cinnamon powder
2 pinch cardamom powder
1 butter stick
3 cups sugar more or less based on your liking
Few drops of rose water
Almonds and raisins for garnishing
Directions:
In a pan bring a bowl to 10 cups of water, then turn off the heat.Now add 4 cups of cabbage into that water so that the water can absorb all the raw veggie smell from the cabbage.Now wait for 5 min. and drain the water.
In another pan, bring bowl to 1 gallon milk.Now cook the milk for 1 hour on low to medium heat. Stir occasionally so that the creme in the milk does not get burn. Gradually the water in the milk will evaporte and become thick and 1 gallon milk will reduce to half gallon milk.This is the crucial part of the desert.
Now into that thick milk add all the ingredients including cabbage. cook it for 15 min. until the cabbage gets cooked and soft.
Garnish with almonds and raisins.
