Ingredients:
2 cups of masoor beans
1 & 1/2 cups chopped onion
2 to 3 chopped green chili
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
Salt to taste around 1 tsp
Optional:
For exotic taste you can add :
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cumin powder
Description:
- Wash and soak masoor beans for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Drain and grind to make a paste.
- Add chopped onion,green chillies,cilantro or any of your favorite herbs and salt.
- Mix it well and keep it aside.
- Heat 3 cups of oil in a pan or wok.
- When the oil is smoking hot, lower the heat.
- Fry in medium heat.
- Make flat shape like vada and deep fry it both sides for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Serve it hot with your favorite sauce.
Tips: You can grind the masoor beans a lot at a time then save extra paste for later use by keeping it in the refrigerator. The paste will remain good for 7 to 8 days. But not to mix any onion or herbs. It will become saggy
