Delicious Chicken-Potato Curry

Prep Time:30 Minutes
Cook time: 45-55 Minutes

Ingredients:
1 small size whole chicken cut into 16-24 pieces 
4 potatoes, make 4 pieces out of 1 potato
2 cups chopped onion
1 tbsp garlic paste
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 tbsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tbsp yogurt
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp garam masala powder

4 bay leaf
1 whole cinnamon stick break in to pieces
2 whole black cardamom'
1 & 1/2 tbsp salt
1 tomato cut like wedges
3 cups water
1 cup  oil
3 to 4 green chili 
Lemon slices and cilantro for garnishing

Direction:


  • In a hot saucepan saute onion,bay leaf,cardamom,cinnamon stick in oil  until onion gets  little bit golden brown then add all the spices,salt and 1 cup water.Cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Now add chicken and  mix properly with the spices ,cook it for 20-25 minutes covering the lid.
  • Always cook in a  low heat.
  • Stir occasionally so that the curry does not get burnt.
  • Now add potatoes,tomatoes and 2 cups water.
  • Cook for 20 to 25 minutes until the chicken and potatoes gets soft and tender. 
  • Stir occasionally otherwise the chicken will get burnt on bottom.
  • Then add 3 to 4  green chili and few chopped cilantro and simmer for 2 minutes.

Chicken-Potato curry is ready to serve with bread or rice or pulao.
